Christian Education
Christian education
                    Spirit Stars is a ministry for
                    youth ages 5 years and up,
                    designed to provide a
                    substantive, sensory-rich,
and worshipful experience for children with special needs. Based on a reverse inclusion model, Spirit Stars invites all children and youth to grow in their relationship with the Lord in a way that is meaningful and accessible for them. It is offered in the Christ Reformed UCC Social Hall, concurrent with our 10:30 Sunday morning worship service. A certified special education teacher with the Frederick County Public Schools serves as our ministry leader. Download our Spirit Stars Brochure here.
Several adult Sunday School classes are available to suit diverse needs and interests.  Whether you are interested in a traditional or contemporary learning format, academic Bible study or theological reflection on current issues, you can find a place to grow at Christ Reformed UCC.  Some classes progress through a regular curriculum of study while others cover a specific topic for a 2-3 month period and then start a new subject.  All classes are open and you are invited to sit-in or join any class at any time.  Please contact the church office for more information.
Christ Reformed UCC encourages all members to grow as Christ’s disciples by becoming involved in Christian Education programs that will strengthen and nurture their faith.  Classes are available for ALL ages from 9:15-10:15 a.m. every Sunday.  Those needing modifications/accommodations in order to participate should contact the church office or call 301-371-6610) for assistance.

Children/Youth Sunday School classes are grouped by age and/or grade: Nursery (age 2 or younger); Pre-School (3 and 4 years); Early Elementary (Kindergarten/1st Grade); Middle Elementary (2nd/3rd Grade); Older Elementary (4th/5th Grade); Middle School and High School.  See our 2011-2012 Sunday School - Curriculum Overview for more information.

2011-2012 SUNDAY SCHOOL REGISTRATION

This year we’re asking for all child/youth Sunday School participants to be registered using these registration form(s). While it isn’t mandatory that forms be completed for children to participate, the information we’re asking for will help us to make the Sunday School experience as enriching as possible.  We’re hoping this will help us:

-Get to know your child better as we enjoy the Sunday School year;
-Have a more accurate estimate of how many students to expect in each class;
- Be prepared to make modifications/accommodations for those needing extra assistance to enjoy the Sunday School program; and
- Improve our communication with parents and caretakers about curriculum and special programming.

Please complete one form for each child/youth you would like to have participate in the Christ Reformed 2010-2011 Sunday School Program.  Completed forms should be returned to the church office by August 28 or as soon as you can.
