HIGHLIGHTS FROM HONDURAS.
Over the last decade our church has sent more than two dozen volunteers to help build and rebuild housing near the city of El Progresso. Here are images from this years trip to Honduras - in honor of Merle Guyton.
Our church and denomination have a rich tradition of caring for the world’s spiritually and physically afflicted. In keeping with that tradition our church actively supports, with funds and volunteers, organizations such as:
Habitat for Humanity • Honduras Project • Frederick Soup Kitchen • Heartly House
Religious Coalition for Emergency Human Needs

In Memory of Harold Schilling.
Ten years ago Harold Schilling, at the age of 80, was part of a mission team from our church that traveled to El Progreso, Honduras to help rebuild housing destroyed by Hurricane Mitch. A skilled builder Harold also brought to the project his deep faith and compassion.
Last Fall Harold passed away and in January this year's mission team completed a new house and dedicated it to Harold. His commitment to service and dedication to helping those in need continues to inspire his fellow members of Christ Reformed UCC.
On March 19th, 2011, 13 members of our church joined 13 members of other UCC churches in a week-long mission trip to restore Hurricane Katrina damaged housing in New Orleans. The group spent the week repairing and painting a house occupied by two families who had lost their homes to flooding in the 2005 storm. While it is inevitable that much of the world’s attention gets focused on each new natural disaster, the families with whom the group worked and the other residents of New Orleans are grateful that their plight is not forgotten. Members and friends of our church who couldn’t go along helped purchase building materials and provided prayer support for those who did.
